With the vocal-ish (not sure what it is) at the beginning and end it almost sounds like a Legend of Zelda Temple song.

It's not horrible, but yes I agree that it sounds simliar to that of a Megaman game or some other older game with almost 8-bit music. Maybe try an 8-bit or Atari-style song next.
